What We Like

  • Really clear back, so you can see your phone through it really well
  • Additional MagSafe magnets that are super strong and survive the shake test
  • Integrated buttons work really well and have good feedback, with a cutout for camera control
  • Good protection around the camera module, and the case sits nice and flat on its back
  • Hasn't been a fingerprint magnet in normal use

This is the Slim Clear case from Encased, one of the 17 cases I tested for the iPhone 18 Pro Max. What I’m really liking about this case is the clarity of the back. I could see the nice black finish of my iPhone 18 Pro Max really well through it.

Clear Back and Fingerprints

Overall, the clear backing has not been a big fingerprint magnet. I was using the case earlier and must have touched something a little bit greasy, because when I touched the phone and then looked at it, there was a good fingerprint on it. But in normal use, I haven’t noticed this thing being a fingerprint magnet.

That’s really nice, because if you’ve got a clear back on your case where you can see the back of the phone, fingerprints could really show. This case is doing a great job of minimizing that and not collecting those fingerprints.

MagSafe Magnets

This case has additional MagSafe magnets built into it, and they’re super strong. It survives the shake test, no issues there. It’s a relatively slim case too, so it’s not going to affect wireless charging or anything like that.

Protection

You get protection all the way around, and it’s got good protection around the camera module. Because of that, the case sits nice and flat on its back. There’s a little bit of screen-down protection, but since I have a screen protector on my phone, it’s basically flush with the edges of the case.

Feel and Buttons

This case just feels really good in the hand. It is a little slick, I’d have to say. When I hold it, it’s a little slick on the sides, but the back isn’t super slick. So overall, the case feels pretty good, and I’m not really scared that I’d drop it because of the finish.

There’s a cutout so you have access to the camera control button. The other buttons are integrated into the case, and they work really well and have good feedback.

Who It’s For

If you’re looking for a case that’s just super sleek, this one definitely fits the bill. It’s clean, it’s inexpensive, and it’s a great option for the iPhone 18 Pro Max. Encased has a lot of other case options as well if you want to check those out.
