What We Like

  • You can get interchangeable buttons in a variety of colors, and they're very easy to swap out
  • One of the most responsive integrated camera control buttons I've used, sensitive but not overly sensitive
  • Just looks really good, coming from someone who isn't much of a clear case guy
  • Lots of protection all the way around the edges
  • Very subtle Rhinoshield branding

What Could Improve

  • Back corners are more squared off than the phone, and personally, I wish the radius were a little more rounded

This is the clear case from Rhinoshield, and I’m really liking it. I’m not much of a clear case guy, but this one just looks really good, and the Rhinoshield branding is very subtle. It’s one of the 17 cases I tested for the iPhone 18 Pro Max, and I’ve got mine set up with orange buttons instead of the clear ones.

Swappable Color Buttons

You can get interchangeable buttons for this case. I swapped out the clear buttons for some orange buttons, and there’s a variety of other colors you can get as well. It’s very easy to swap them out, maybe to color match your phone or just to add a little bit of color. I added a little orange to give it some subtle highlights.

I really enjoy being able to swap out the buttons so I can customize the case to my liking.

Camera Control Button

One of the things I first noticed is just how responsive the camera control button is. You can press down to hit record or lightly double press to get to the different camera options. When I tested it, this was the most responsive integrated case button I’d used on any case up to that point. It’s just as responsive as if there’s no button there at all.

Most of the other cases I tested have pretty responsive camera control buttons too. But on those, you might have to push down just a little bit, and it gets close to where you’re actually pushing down all the way to take a picture or start recording. This one is so sensitive, but not overly sensitive. I think it really works great.

Design and Feel

One of the things I did notice about this case is that the back corner radius is not much of a radius. It’s not as rounded as the phone, and some other cases are a lot more rounded on the back side. So this one does feel a little more squared off.

When you hold on to the phone and the case, there’s a lot more to hold on to. That might be good if that’s what you’re looking for, a case that gives you a little more to hold on to without being a super bulky case. That’s kind of what they went for here. I do wish that radius was a little more rounded, but that’s just a personal preference.

Protection

You get lots of protection all the way around the edges, and there’s just a little bit of screen-down protection. I do have a screen protector on my phone, so that adds a little bit there as well.
